Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS THE ZINE'S THEME?
Gangstar's Paradise is a zine focused on imagining how Bruno and Giorno might live their best life with mafia money after taking over Passione. Would they dine at 5-star restaurants every night? Live in a lavish mansion? Hold a fairy tale wedding? Take tropical vacations? Spend time gambling? The only limit is our participants imaginations (certainly not the Boss's bank account)! It's happily ever after, Mafia style?!
Our theme is focused on love and fun. We want to celebrate positivity, comraderie, friendship, romance, and trust between Bruno and Giorno – and in our community!
WHAT KIND OF CONTENT WILL BE IN THE ZINE?
It shouldn't need to be said, but JoJo and this zine are works of fiction. Names, characters, business, events and incidents are the products of the creators' imaginations. Any resemblance to actual morals, wholesome or problematic, or actual social standards, is purely coincidental (lol). Situations depicted in fiction do not equal endorsement in real life. These are mafiosos with a space virus that gives them punching ghosts, for heaven's sake! 😂
While we will not allow nudity, explicit sexual content, or gore, the zine may contain mature themes. Content could include suggestive dialogue, coarse language, sexually suggestive situations or canon-typical violence. This would likely place it between TV-14 and Mature (17+) – the rating system used for both TV and Video Games in the US (JoJo is rated M-17).
WILL OTHER CHARACTERS BE ALLOWED?
This zine is strictly focused on the relationship of BruGio/GioBru, either version is acceptable. Other characters may be present (such as celebrating a wedding) but the focus should be on Giorno and Bruno.
WHAT KIND OF CREATORS ARE YOU INCLUDING?
We will feature a mix of fanart illustrations and fan fiction (under 3000 words). We may consider cosplay if there's enough interest!
WHO CAN APPLY?
Anyone can apply, regardless of your previous experience with contributing to zines. The mods believe in "Ship and let ship" – your ships will not affect your participation in the zine. BruGio/GioBru doesn't have to be your OTP to participate! Due to the mature themes and the wide range of participant backgrounds, artists and writers must be 18+ to apply.
Though the zine will be developed and published in English, we encourage participants from all around the world!
I'M BLOCKED FROM YOUR TWITTER. WHAT GIVES?
To protect our participants and BruGio/GioBru community, we've manually curated a blocklist through searching Twitter for harassment and anti-shipping discourse. If you were part of spamming or harassing BruGio week or proshippers, you were probably blocked. If you feel like there's been a mistake, you can send us a CuriousCat with your Twitter ID.
HOW MANY PARTICIPANTS WILL THERE BE?
Mods are still deciding on this. It could depend on whether the zine is physical and digital, or digital only.
WILL THE ZINE BE PHYSICAL OR DIGITAL?
This is to be determined. We will be conducting an interest check to guage what our audience wishes.
WILL THE ZINE BE FOR CHARITY OR PROFIT?
This is to be determined. We will be conducting an interest check to guage what our audience wishes.
WILL THERE BE MERCH?
Yes, regardless of the format we will include merch bonuses.
